Eurasico

Eurasico ("You're a sicko") started when Jeff found a cheap fare from Helsinki to Singapore. Many frequent flyer miles, hotel points, emails and phone calls later, we had cobbled together a three week, multi-country adventure that couldn't be more random in its itinerary...SFO-SEA-FRA-HEL-AMS-SIN-DPS-SIN-AMS-HEL-VNO-FRA-MEX-SFO/MSP. To start at the beginning, scroll down to the end, and work your way up.

Riga: Ready for its close-up.

For some reason, Jeff and I didn't expect to love Riga. Maybe it was the bits we had read online about it becoming a Brit stag party destination that fueled Latvian's disdain for foreign tourists. But there's absolutely no denying it -- Riga is gorgeous, and a real working city. From the chaotic central market where locals shop, to the beautifully restored art deco buildings in Old Town and throughout the city, Riga is vibrant.

And while the Latvians may not be the warmest people in the world, the men are incredibly easy on the eyes, and built like mack trucks. I could go on and on about that, but i'd just end up embarrassing myself. And Jeff and I have literally exhausted every angle at this point.

Adding to our Riga experience was our hotel, the brand, spankin' new Reval Elizabetes.

A design hotel with an open air atrium and glass elevators, Jeff and I were the least fabulous people there.

And we're fairly fabulous.

But we're not opposed to cheap Latvian beer, either.

Two beautiful parks smack dab in the middle of the city added to Riga's charm and accessibility.

The central market was abuzz with activity.

No tourists here. Except us.

It assaulted the senses.

In mostly a good way.

The art deco buildings were tremendous:

Russian Orthodox Churchiness!

The National Opera House!

"And...scene."
